About Us
Carrie Rogers-Whitehead
is the founder of Digital Respons-Ability, which teaches tens of thousands of educators, parents and students across the country. Carrie is also the author of several books, including Deepening Digital Citizenship (ISTE, 2022) with Vanessa Monterosa, Digital Citizenship: Teaching Strategies and Practice from the Field (Rowman & Littlefield, 2019) and The 3Ms of Fearless Digital Parenting (Skyhorse, 2021).
Vanessa Monterosa
serves as a senior associate partner for NewSchools Venture Fund, a nonprofit committed to investing in bold, innovative ideas to transform education. Prior to joining the NewSchools team, Dr. Monterosa dedicated seven years to successfully shaping system-level digital citizenship efforts across Los Angeles Unified, the nation’s second largest school district. She is co-author of Deepening Digital Citizenship (ISTE, 2022).
How this book happened
Years ago Carrie was looking for resources on scaling digital citzienship and came across Vanessa's thesis on Twitter. From there they kept talking about change management, digital citizenship and more. Those talks led to writing and they are excited to be working with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) to share their work.
